What a Gem of hotel. We stayed for a 3 night break in Room 2 on the first floor. Room was spotless, beautiful king size bed (waved goodnight to my husband on the other side of the bed and slept like a log) Well located 10 minute walk to Whitby main harbour. Loved the sea view. Emma and Dave are lovely and had provided plenty of information on anything you need to know about the stay and the local amenities. Parking permits are provided however my husband has a disabled blue badge and we were able to use that to park outside the hotel. Highly recommend ❤️

3rd time staying at whalebone arch lovely clean rooms with fridge so bring your own wine. Nice walk into town but raining later so a short taxi ride back. We'll be back

Booking in information good and easy to follow. Room was large although bathroom was small. Any questions were answered as " the informations in the file". Not as personal touch as most other places in Whitby. Disgusting xl text message after our stay accusing us of being drunk and urinating on a carpet. We are not heavy drinkers and have pride. We always respect where we stay when we come to Whitby several times a year. If we could give no stars we would. Devasted my the owners accusations.

What a lovely little guest house.Room was spotless and the toilet / shower room was immaculate.Bed was really comfortable.We had the perfect hosts who made our short trip as comfortable as we could have wished for.Only a few minutes walk from centre but the road was peaceful.Ample street parking.We were given a parking pass so we had no problems at all.We can’t praise this place enough.Just look at our photos.You will not be disappointed.We would definitely like to stay again.

Stayed a couple of nights in room 7 on the ground floor which is right next to the front door. Although you could hear other guests coming and going it didn't bother me but might bother some. I never saw my hosts. All communication was by text which was fine with me but it does create some distance.

Just had a lovely weekend here room was amazing spotlessly clean the bed was so comfy. Everything you could want would definitely recommend and can't wait to come back.

What a gem of a hotel. Instructions for arrival and accessing the room were very clear and we were able to get in when we arrived at noon. We were in room 5 which was spotless and well equipped with a big (?superking) comfy bed and a bit of a sea view. The fridge and crockery were great extras as we were able to sort our own breakfasts. The general location was quiet but well placed for accessing the beach and shops/ restaurants. Don't do what we did though and fail to properly read the (very clear!) instructions in the room to put our car registration number on the parking permit - I think we made a parking warden's day with a £25 fine!

Do not know where to start.EMMA & DAVE Must have spent many months thinking how to please there visitors want and needs. The rooms,top class furnishings, super king size bed . So much attention to all aspects of the rooms we had a four poster bed, touch bedside lamps . elegant lighting both in shower room and main bedroom. Having travelled many years for work purposes.We wanted to try Whitby for a break.found this little gem of a place. The reviews on webpage made us pick this accomodation if you can give this place some thought before booking.and book direct for best prices.

This was a very clean and very beautiful room, the whole place was very clean, cannot fault it. They communicated regularly about checking in as it was self check in. I would highly recommend it as a place to stay.

Absolutely loved staying here for the whitby goth weekend ( april ) The room was fantastic and the owners where so friendly. The room had plates and cutlery should you choose to us3 them. Also cups for tea and coffee which was provided. Also clean fresh towels for the shower. I'd recommend this place every day of the week.

Just spent the wkend in room 7 last minute booking went through no problem .. managed to park straight away and we have a long wheeled based van you get a permit out of the room.. the room was a downstairs room with a big bay window beautiful furniture and spacious bathroom .. shower was a bit temperamental,, but everything was absolutely immaculate the room has the quietest fridge ever which is good with milk and water supplied.. along with tea coffee sugar biscuits everything you need really In the wardrobe there was a box with plates cutlery and glasses The room was little cool at times but it didn't bother us as we were out most of the time We loved it tho definitely worth the money and we will be back and recommend to others

Excellent lodge! We stayed in a lovely 3rd floor room, with large bed and spacious bathroom. Everything taken care of over direct message, never interacted with owners in person. Showed up, got the key, and checked ourselves in - all great! Pass for on-street parking included, but we elected to leave our rental in the 24hr city car park, only a short walk from the Lodge. For breakfast, we wandered down to the Ditto Cafe for what could be the best breakfast on our entire UK trip! and conveniently across the street from one of the oldest and most delicious institutions of confectionery - Botham's of Whitby - for a perfect finish! Highly recommended, we'll be back for sure!!

We have just had a lovely 2 night stay and I can honestly say it’s the nicest place we have stayed in a long while. Modern, clean and everything we needed including a fridge and extra supplies, if required. We didn’t meet the owners but they should be very proud of this well thought out operation on a room only basis. Parking permit right outside an absolute bonus in Whitby!

Lovely place to stay. Room was spacious, very clean, quiet and had everything you could need. Nicely furnished. Beautiful bathroom. Fridge appreciated, plus the extras in the wardrobe, plates, glasses, cutlery etc. Super comfortable bed. Smart TV with Netflix was a bonus. We loved everything about it and would highly recommend. Lots of information given by text.

Very clean, quiet and a great location makes this a wonderful place to stay when visiting whitby. Our room "no 8" had a massive comfy bed and a fantastic shower room, Great all round at a fair price in a nice location.

This is now called 'The Whalebone Arch' I would really recommend this stunning little guesthouse. I am being completely honest when I say that it is the nicest hotel/guesthouse in England that I have stayed in,it even beats some of the abroad hotels we have stayed at. The room was lovely,immaculately clean,well equiped with tea, coffee and hot chocolate and something we were super impressed with was that there is a fridge in the room and the owners had provided a bottle of fresh milk and 2 bottles of water which were left inside. Inside the bottom of the wardrobe was a plastic box full of everything you could need during your stay extra tea, coffee, sugars, extra loo rolls, plates, bowls, wine glasses, tall glasses etc . Box of tissues on table . Also in the base of wardrobe was a clock radio and a fan there is a hairdryer and heat pad for straighteners. 2 towel are provided which are really big and so soft ,good quality. In the bath there some complimentary shower caps, soap and shower gel, the shower is Amazing very big, enough for 2 people if you want to save water obviously 😉. There is a ironing board and iron which you can use if need in a cupboard at the on ground floor. The location is perfect for a picturess walk into the town on the way down you will pass Captain Cook and the Whalebone Arch depending on you're pase of walking it is around a 10 minute walk to the start of town, shops, arcades,bars and restaurants. The distance home from town is perfect to walk a big meal you may have eaten 😂. There is parking outside and around the hotel will provide you with a parking permit. We really enjoyed our stay in Whitby at this hotel and if we return to Whitby we will definitely book at the Whalebone Arch again. Thanks Emma xx
